Stress Engineer – Repairs


£26.10 PAYE

9 – 12 months contract


The requirement is for an Engineer with an Aerospace Engineering background, with repairs knowledge. Working as part of a dynamic and reactive team you will be responsible for analysis and validation of metallic and composite structures for static and fatigue strength to support structural repairs according to validated methods. You will ensure adherence to airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines. Your primary role will be to provide stress analysis for the repair/acceptance of damaged aircraft structures in addition to performing monitoring/guidance and support to sub-contract suppliers providing structural analysis work.

Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation, set objectives and prioritise to time, cost and quality

Deliver integrated engineering solutions within agreed timescales.

Where appropriate, utilise and support strategic off-site engineering commercial partnerships to ensure appropriate capability and flexibility.



Candidates will possess an engineering Degree or have equivalent relevant experience in an engineering environment.


Essential Skills

HNC/HND qualification and minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering environment.

Static analysis of aircraft structures using a broad range of standard hand and computer methods

An understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for static stressing and an ability to develop these methods

Ability to liaise/negotiate with Design/Production, Customer Services and risk sharing partners.

PC skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Be conversant with the technical requirements for designing repairs

Good interpersonal and communication skills

The ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables and prioritise.


Preferred Skills

Some knowledge of the application of FE analysis

Stress Engineering background, Aircraft preferred.

Already holding stress approvals.

Demonstrated problem solving ability
