Purpose:
To generate plans, conduct, witness and report results for
qualification and certification of the company's product.
Responsibilities:
The Test & Certification Engineer derives his authority from the
Head of Engineering and is responsible to the Certification Manager.
Is responsible for test planning, undertaking tests and producing
the relevant test plans and reports to the specification &
Regulation required. These tests include, but are not limited to,
mechanical strength tests, flammability tests, fire containment
tests, refrigeration, ventilation, endurance, environmental,
function and acceptance tests.
Is to ensure that all test plans and test reports produced are
accurate and are checked, filed and maintained in a satisfactory
manner.
To provide support and documentation for determining FMEA, FAL, HASS
and HALT documentation.
Is to demonstrate an appropriate level of numerical and verbal
reasoning skills.
Skills and
Experience required:
Experience in Aircraft Interiors Certification
and Testing requirements.
Experience in Structural, Function, Substantiation Testing.
Knowledge of MTBF/HASS/HALT assessments is an advantage.
Overall Interiors product knowledge (i.e. Galleys, Video Control
Centre’s, Crew Rests, Lavatories, Passenger Service Units, Overhead
bins, ceiling and wall panels)
Qualifications to degree level or appropriate experience (minimum
relevant 3 years)
Have good communicative skills.
Other:
Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and abroad,
sometimes at short notice and extended periods.
