CONTRACTS MANAGER

The Commercial Manager (CM) with be responsible for commercial and legal activities and will be both customer and subcontractor facing. The position will provide legal specialist commercial support with the objective of mitigating contract and legal risk and optimising business performance and effectiveness.

The position will be responsible for the implementation of company objectives which must be established, achieved and monitored through relevant company policies and procedures. Responsible for communication and implementation of such policies and procedures across all business areas.

Key tasks include, inter alia:

Acting as the single point of contact in the pre and post contract/order environment to help identify, mitigate and manage legal/ contractual/ commercial risk within contracts and purchase orders.

Drafting, negotiating, reviewing, advising, changing/ amending terms and conditions for RfQs and contracts/ purchase orders;

Supporting relevant business areas in customer and vendor meetings and negotiations;

Maintaining central contract management system i.e. contract database (soft and hard copy) with necessary timely updates of all contracts;

Drafting and negotiating other contractually binding documents such as confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements and distributorship agreements;

Providing guidance/ instruction to other business functions on commercial/ supply chain best practice and how to commercially and legally improve our service offering;

Managing commercial aspects of customer and vendor disputes;

Managing the tender & contract approval process, alongside the Sales and Marketing Department;

Ensure that appropriate information for national and international legislation, relevant to the company, is available and communicated to those concerned.

Managing the business' export compliance procedures

Skills and Experience required:

Experience in a senior commercial role within a comparable environment.

Experience of customer/supplier management, financial evaluation and reporting.

First class inter-personal and analytical skills.

An appreciation of detailed contractual, commercial and legal requirements.

Needs to display initiative and overall business awareness; will have excellent judgement and decision making rationale.

Ability to influence using clear communication skills and capable of working effectively as a member of a larger team

Competence on MS Office is essential, in particular, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Must have flexibility to travel.

Salary: Negotiable on £30K
