Purpose:
To develop Initial Concepts for Customer upgrades
To understand customer requirements and compile work statements
To scheme design solutions and show innovation in design
To Improve on existing design in warranty cases
To programme design activities to meet budgets and timescales
To prepare accurate quotations in support of customer requirements.
To ensure final design complies with prime costs for material and
labour.
Responsibilities:
Design to meet customer specifications
Lead Team of Designers
Liaise with PAIG companies or 3rd party Original Equipment
Manufacturer
Check Drawings and design solutions
Control and development prototypes
Liaise with customers on a regular basis
Programme manage design from concept to completion
Preparation of accurate quotations
To promote and help achieve overall objectives for the company.
To support the production of SB’s and CMM’s in conjunction with
Technical Publications
Monitor and report status of Design to Plan.
Skills and
Experience required:
In addition to having experience to meet
requirements of a Design Engineer;
HNC or equivalent – with solid experience in a similar role
Have good Communication skills and evidence of man management
skills.
CAD experience Anvil express/CATIA with a min 2000 hours user
experience
Knowledge of Civil Aircraft/Boeing/Airbus - Interiors specification
Knowledge of CS’s and EASA requirements for interior equipment.
Other:
Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and abroad,
sometimes at short notice and extended periods
