Prominent Aerospace Company are seeking a Design
Bid Support Engineer.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1.Provide technical guidance to the Sales and Marketing teams to
ensure that the debates with potential customers are well informed
on the technical capabilities of the Company, and that the work
being discussed can be accomplished within a reasonable timescale
and at a competitive cost.
2.Initial Project review to see if technically feasible.
3.Formulate design concept in liaison with Production Engineering
and Design Office.
4.Presentation of Customer requirements as design concept to
internal team.
5.Assist in the compilation of bids, which have Design content.
Guidance and information can be sought, if necessary from the Design
Office.
6.Co-ordinate the Design phase review deliverables for all new
projects.
7.Provide regular updates to the Head of Design on the status of all
the projects currently being worked.
8.Brief Engineering staff as appropriate on all projects to ensure
continuity after contract acceptance.
9.Oversee the Design Office estimation process to ensure on track
with concept.
Skills and
Experience required:
Essential
EDUCATION
HNC/HND in appropriate subjects.
Engineering apprenticeship
(preferably aeronautical).
EXPERIENCE:
Should have a minimum of 10 years design experience in the aerospace
industry, with a working knowledge of a recognised CAD system.
An understanding and experience of current civil aerospace
certification requirements, and in
particular, EASA Part 21 Subpart J & M.
A detailed understanding of Military Design as appropriate
to a DAOS approval.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Must be a team player with good
communication skills, and be self motivated, disciplined, and have
proven supervisory skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a basic security clearance in order to be cleared to
work on our MoD accredited
CAD Network.
