Our client has a requirement for a Principal
Stress Engineer to lead a team of Stress & Design Engineers. This is
an exciting position with "Hands-on" engineering. The company is at
the forefront of it's field with many new projects coming into
fruition.
Responsibilities:
" Technical Responsibility for various aircraft repairs (Structures)
and support to all designs
" Team Leader Stress
" Project Management
" CAA & MOD approved signatory for stress issues and part 21 sub
para J CVE
Technical responsibility (structures) for all repairs to various
medium and heavy aircraft, plus stress support to all designs,
(civil & military).
Liaison with OEM to determine aircraft operating parameters. Liaison
with equipment suppliers and Sub-Contracting companies to ensure
delivery and quality targets are met. Directing and advising design
teams on structural integrity issues.
Reporting at times to the Board of Directors regarding project
scheduling and quality issues. Reporting on a daily basis to the
Head of Design.

Skills and
Experience required:
Qualifications:
HBC/HND and previous experience
Experience
Design, manufacture & installation of equipment for EW, Navigation,
Surveillance and Special Missions. Responsible for Project Stress
Team & final Stress & approval signatory for all drawings, stress
reports & supporting documentation. Responsible for co-ordinating
technical support to production.
Must be experienced with Nastran/Patran and Hand Calculation methods
of Stress Analysis.
The person will be accurate with calculations, knowledgeable of
Aerospace Structures and manufacturing methods, have experience of
dealing with the EASA and MoD. Be authoritative and able to lead
naturally.
