Protec Technical Design Services

Protec Technical offer a design department that acts as an ‘On Call Service’ to clients.  Utilizing contract staff for their flexibility and breadth of experience we provide a fast reaction to clients needs.  The service is complimented by the recruitment division of Protec Technical.  Our Directors have lead teams of designers and project engineers for defence and manufacturing projects.

CAD Packages

Working on new equipment we are operating AutoCAD Inventor.  Inventor is fully compatible, saving files into .dwg and .dfx files for use on AutoCAD and other similar systems. 
For long projects, or with agreement the CAD package of choice will be provided.  In our experience the CAD workstations take 3 / 4 days to order and prepare.  We have an IT consultant able to react to problems or setting up within a short period of time.  Broadband Internet access is provided. 

Other CAD Systems that may be provided are CATIA v4 & v5, Pro/Engineer, AutoCAD, Anvil, SolidEdge, Solid Works, Electrical and Stress Packages.

Capacity

We have capacity for 12 engineers.  More may be accommodated at short notice within offices in our building.

Method

For large Teams Protec are able to accommodate Clients representatives in-house.  Clients have a right to visit their teams at any time.  Protec Technical encourage regular meetings to ensure timely progress and maintain standards.  Milestones are normally set and Service Level Agreements made.  Payment made either on an hourly basis or by a work package quotation before work started.  Weekly reports supported by detailed timesheets presented to the client.

Open Book Invoicing

Protec Technical are happy to provide an ‘Open Book’ method of invoicing to allow the client to understand how the costings are constructed.  This will be agreed before commencement of project.  The Client retains control of costs at all times.
